Everyone else in the Vest meets on a Sunday morning. We meet when the working week has actually let you go — Tuesday for the Bible, Wednesday for worship and prayer.

Bible Refreshment

One passage, opened slowly, until it makes sense to everyone in the room. Questions are asked out loud — including the ones that sound like they should not be asked in a church. No prior knowledge is assumed and nobody is made to read aloud.

If you have never held a Bible, this is the evening to come to. If you have read it for forty years, you will still hear something you missed, because the person next to you grew up on a different continent.

  • Bring nothing — Bibles are there, in more than one language
  • Questions welcome at any point, no hands raised necessary
  • Usually shorter than the Wednesday evening

Revival — about ninety minutes.

Worship first, carried by our own band and sung in more than one language. Then the word, preached rather than lectured. Then prayer for whoever wants it — a decision, a diagnosis, a visa, a marriage, a week that went wrong.

This is the loud end of what we do, and it is still an evening where you may sit at the back with your coat on and simply watch. Prayer is offered here. It is never applied to you.

  • Live worship, multilingual song sets
  • Preaching in English, roughly half the evening
  • Personal prayer afterwards — only if you ask for it

Everything practical, in one place.

LanguageEnglish, carried in fiveThe evening runs in English. Someone will translate quietly into German, Dutch, Spanish or French if you need it.
LengthAround 90 minutesWednesday runs about an hour and a half. Tuesday is usually shorter. You may leave whenever you need to.
CostNothing, everNo entrance, no membership, no plate pushed under your nose. A first-time visitor gives exactly nothing.
DressWhatever you came inThere is no dress code and nobody is checking. Work clothes are as normal here as a good shirt.
ChildrenWelcome and expectedThere is a looked-after corner for the little ones and nobody minds noise during the evening.
